Plot

As the 90s dawned, Bulgaria found itself in the throes of the Eastern Bloc's passionate sprint towards freedom. Amidst the surging tide of thousands upon thousands crying out for democracy, a menacing specter was taking shape in the shadows. This was not the birth of a new era of liberty, but the chilling inception of an insidious criminal enterprise. Unbeknownst to the hopeful masses, these clandestine figures swiftly seized control of their nascent 'democratic' society. Street gangs rose to prominence, their cold, steel grip instilling unspoken dread into the hearts of the population. Yet, amidst the tumult, freedom had indeed arrived in Bulgaria. But it was a perverted interpretation of liberty, one where the criminals covertly commandeered everything of value, privatizing it in their insidious interests. Thus, in the wake of a fervent quest for democracy, a new order had emerged - one shaped and controlled by the very shadows they thought they had escaped. "Once Upon a Time in the East" paints a vivid portrait of a society caught in the crossfire of change and corruption, where freedom becomes a pawn in the ruthless game of power.
