Plot
Hyacinth Bucket, a woman who persistently corrects the pronunciation of her surname to "bouquet," is ceaselessly on the hunt for social advancement. Trapped amidst the societal echelons, she finds herself a notch below her sister Violet, who luxuriates in a home equipped with a swimming pool and a sauna, and even a spot for a pony. Yet, she is a step above her blue-collar siblings, Daisy and Rose. Hyacinth's fervor for impeccable hosting sends shivers down the spine of her neighbor, Elizabeth, a regular invitee for coffee at the pristine Bucket residence. Elizabeth's divorced brother, Emmet, who shares a fence with the Buckets, constantly tries to escape Hyacinth's cloying presence. She has a vexing habit of bursting into melodies around him, in a desperate bid to snag a role in his local theater productions.
