Black Hawk Down (2001)

Black Hawk Down is based on the real story of a 1993 US military raid in Mogadishu, the capital city of Somalia, which straddles the Horn of Africa. Following the fall of the central Somali government and the start of a tumultuous civil war, the United States orders the capture of top rebel militia members, who are threatening the UN’s peacekeeping mission. But the mission soon spirals into a brutal, deadly conflict. After an American helicopter is shot down, the rangers must make a desperate stand for the night until they can be fully evacuated in time.
