Professor Sherman Klump is extremely overweight and unlucky in love. However, he is a genius, and has developed a miraculous weight loss formula that could change his life forever. Fearing the side effects of his formula, Professor Klump tests it on himself. Almost instantly, Professor Klump transforms into the charming and psychically attractive Buddy Love. Through his Buddy Love persona, Professor Klump earns a date with the girl of his dreams and considers becoming Buddy full-time. However, the physical body Professor Klump developed begins to have a personality of its own, which puts Professor Klump in jeopardy.
