Plot

In the wake of his father's untimely demise from cancer, Stéphane, a young man of mixed Mexican-French heritage, finds himself swept from the vibrant hues of Mexico to the quaint charm of Paris. At the behest of his widowed mother, Christine, Stéphane grapples with the French language and the stark shift in his life's canvas while occupying his old bedroom in his mother's apartment building, where she resides with her magician boyfriend, Gérard. Stéphane's artistic aptitude secures him a job at a calendar-making firm, a position far less glamorous than his mother's presentation implied. Despite the mundane reality of his work, Stéphane nurtures a budding friendship with his coworkers, particularly the brash and sex-obsessed Guy, who becomes an unlikely confidante. Simultaneously, a fateful connection blossoms between Stéphane and his neighbor, Stéphanie. Both artists trapped in uninspiring nine-to-five jobs, they weave a tapestry of half-truths and unspoken realities. Yet, Stéphane's fascination lies not with Stéphanie, but with her friend, Zoé, while he remains convinced of Stéphanie's romantic interest in him. The cosmos, however, seem to have other plans as Stéphane and Stéphanie share more than just their names; they share a bond that's both intriguing and enigmatic. Their friendship navigates a labyrinth of blurred lines as Stéphane grapples with the entwining vines of reality and the vibrant dreamscape he retreats into. His vivid dreams bleed into his waking life, complicating his relationship with Stéphanie and challenging the boundaries of his perception. As Stéphane battles the trials of his new life, he finds solace in the vibrant dream world, a refuge that may hold the key to his heart's desire and the complexities of his existence.
