The life and times of outsider artist Frida Kahlo are recounted in this biography that doesn't pull any punches. At the heart of the story is her unconventional relationship with Diego Rivera, who she meets at a young age and who fosters her creative spirit while the two prescribe to a non-traditional and non-monogamous relationship. The way she lived was important as the art she created, and the winding stories of her life display both the complexity of her love to her husband alongside scandalous incidents like her tryst with Leon Trotsky. Her life would come to fuel a revolution.
