Plot

In the depths of an unfamiliar town, a stranger named Allan (Charles Lamy) ventures forth, embarking on an eerie journey to the enigmatic House of Usher. Despite the locals' unsettling reluctance, his resolve remains steadfast, securing him a ride through the chilling whispers of the night. Allan is no ordinary visitor but a lone friend of the house's brooding occupant, Roderick Usher (Jean Debucourt). Inside the house's gloom-ridden walls, a haunting tale unravels. Roderick shares his sanctuary with two souls: his ailing wife, Madeleine Usher (Marguerite Gance), and a mysterious doctor (Fournez-Goffard). As the pallid light filters through the dust-laden windows, Roderick immerses himself in painting his beloved Madeleine, his muse and model. Each stroke of his brush further drains her vitality, filling Allan with escalating dread. But the House of Usher harbors more than just mournful portraits and fading echoes. It's a realm where reality blurs with the surreal, where the living commune with the specters of the past. When Madeleine's life extinguishes, Roderick, entrenched in denial, refuses to accept the bitter sting of death. As the moon casts long shadows on a fateful night, the house trembles with a chilling revelation - Madeleine returns. The Fall of the House of Usher is an eerie plunge into a world cloaked in mystery and despair, a cursed dwelling that holds a tale as haunting as its illustrious name.
