Misery (1990)

Paul Sheldon is a novelist who has finally finished his new book, something very different from the series of romances starring a heroine named Misery that has made him rich and famous. He wrecks his car on a snowy Colorado road and is found by a nurse, Annie Wilkes, who takes him to her home. Paul wakes up there with two broken legs to discover that Annie is a huge fan of his work. She also hates his new novel and is furious that he's killed Misery off. Annie is determined to make sure he'll keep writing exactly what she wants.
