When 12-year-old Felix, an imaginative adventurer at heart, finds his mother embarking on a much-needed cruise vacation, he seizes the opportunity to solve the mystery of his father's disappearance at sea two years earlier. With his mother away, Felix outsmarts his dutiful aunt, tasked with guarding him and his little sister, and embarks on an audacious journey that would challenge the tales of legendary explorers. Guided by the tales of his father's covetous desires for a famed treasure, Felix convinces Tom, the retired lighthouse keeper with a heart full of sea-tales and a boat full of courage, to venture to the ominously named Darkshadow Island, also known as the Island of Eternal Night. The island, shrouded in mystery and legend, is reputedly inhabited by the enigmatic Morgäa spider, the guardian of an unimaginable treasure. Accompanied by his trusty sidekicks - Rover, a lovably eccentric cat with delusions of being a dog, and Squawk, Tom's faithful one-legged parrot with a penchant for drama - Felix sails into the unknown, braving the high seas and the dark secrets that lie beneath. Their arrival on the island leads them to an unexpected revelation, an underground city pulsating with clandestine activity and orchestrated by a secret society. At the helm of this society is the formidable Morgäa, the megalomaniac possessor of the very treasure Felix's father had sought. As Felix delves deeper into this hidden world, he remains steadfast in his conviction that his father is still alive. The journey ahead is filled with peril and intrigue, but for Felix, the chance to find his father and unearth the secrets of Darkshadow Island could lead to the greatest discovery of all.
