Cheers (1982)

Cheers is the name of a bar in Boston that is owned by the affable Sam, a former baseball player. A regular set of wacky customers talk about their lives and are teased by a sarcastic barmaid. They bond because they are all losers who can’t cope with life. Sam and one server have an on-again, off-again attraction that is the source of much of the comedy. Sam finally sells the bar and buys a boat that sinks. He comes back and works for the new owner. The bar is a home-away-from-home for each of the dysfunctional patrons including the owner.

Cheers is a comedy show featuring John Ratzenberger and created by James Burrows.
