RangiTaranga (2015)

In the tranquil solitude of Ooty, we meet Gautam, a reclusive novelist, best known for his thrilling novel, "RangiTaranga," a word that may unlock the mysteries of his own past. His gentle wife, Indu, a painter by passion, meticulously crafts the cover pages of each of his enigmatic tales. As they live their serene life, in the shadows lurks Sandhya, a self-proclaimed journalist, drawn into the labyrinth of their existence as she seeks the elusive writer with the pen name "ANASHKU." When Indu's sleep is plagued by unnerving nightmares, she begins to fear an ominous connection to the abrupt cessation of her family's traditional spirit worship. Concerned for the safety of her husband and unborn child, she feels compelled to return to her roots, to the ancestral home in the village of Kamarottu, in hopes of appeasing the restless spirits. Upon their arrival in the rustic charm of Kamarottu, Gautam befriends Kalinga, the village's postmaster, and Shankara, the elderly school headmaster. Yet, as Gautam delves deeper into the heart of the village, he finds himself entangled in a web of cryptic occurrences that draw the ire of the village's powerful men. As Sandhya's relentless pursuit leads her to Kamarottu, their lives spiral uncontrollably into a whirlpool of unexpected events. With the past threatening to shatter their present, "RangiTaranga" takes the viewer on a riveting journey through the labyrinth of secrets, suspense, and spirits that lie in the heart of Kamarottu. Their peaceful existence is shattered as they find themselves in a story far more enthralling and chilling than any Gautam has ever written.
