Plot

In the bustling heart of Rio De Janeiro's Central Station, resides Dora, a retired teacher turned scribe. Engulfed in her dour world, she earns her living by penning letters for those who can't, her disdain for her clients bubbling under the surface as she labels them 'trash'. Among her constant stream of customers is a 9-year-old boy, Josue, a young soul yearning for the father he's never met. His mother, through Dora, sends hopeful letters into the void, seeking a connection with the absent parent. Fate, however, skews the path when a devastating car accident claims Josue's mother, leaving him utterly alone in the world. The tragedy stirs something within the hardened Dora, compelling her to step out of her comfort zone. She embarks on an unexpected journey, with Josue in tow, determined to locate his elusive father. What unfolds is an extraordinary odyssey that traverses beyond the mere geographical miles, but into the realms of empathy, compassion and self-discovery. Dora soon realizes that aiding Josue in finding a home will demand more than what she had imagined, challenging her prejudices and transforming her perception of the world and her place in it. 'Central Station' is a poignant exploration of human connection and redemption, set against the vibrant backdrop of Brazil.
