Plot

In the quaint, charming town of Holly Springs, Mississippi, the plot of Cookie's Fortune unravels amidst the backdrop of a vibrant Easter weekend. The townsfolk are a harmonious blend of tranquillity and geniality, save for one anomaly - Camille Dixon, an overly assertive theatre director. Camille commands the spotlight while her painfully reserved sister, Cora, skirts the shadows. Their world receives an unexpected jolt when Cora's alienated daughter, Emma, makes an unexpected return. The curtain falls on Camille's latest production, only to rise on a shocking discovery - her Aunt Jewel Mae "Cookie" Orcutt's life has ended by her own hand. The horror of family disgrace looming over her, Camille desperately devours the suicide note, orchestrating a scene of burglary in its place. This subterfuge thrusts the law's suspicion onto Willis Richland, Cookie's closest confidant. While the town rallies confidence in Willis' innocence, an external detective isn't as easily swayed. As the Easter sun rises and the theatre's opening night looms, the truth begins to unravel, revealing an intricate web of secrets that far exceed the town's wildest speculations.
