Inferno (1999)

In the sun-scorched expanse of the desert, we meet Eddie Lomax (Van Damme), an embittered, war-weary veteran teetering on the edge of despair. Haunted by his past and disillusioned by life, he roams the barren dunes in a morose quest for a reason to continue living. His solitary wanderings are abruptly interrupted when he crosses paths with a gang of ruthless thugs from a nearby town. In a brutal encounter, they mercilessly beat Eddie and seize his motorcycle, leaving him battered and gasping on the desert floor. However, this cruel act of violence ignites a spark of vengeance within Eddie. Nursed back to health by the enigmatic Mr. Early and a band of kind-hearted strangers, he finds new purpose and resolve. The thoughts of ending his life now replaced with a burning desire for retribution and the return of his stolen bike. But revenge is a dangerous road to tread, especially in a town where lawlessness is the norm and ruthlessness, a virtue. In 'Inferno' (1999), we follow Eddie's journey from a hopeless drifter to a man on a mission, as he navigates through the treacherous terrain of the desert and the even more perilous landscape of retribution.
