Tremors 4: The Legend Begins (2004)

In the year 1889, nestled in the barren sands of Nevada, lies the small town of Rejection. Its survival hangs precariously on the prosperity of a nearby silver mine. The town, though sparse, is vibrant with unique personalities, including the resilient innkeeper Christine Lord, an immigrant family running Chang's Market, and an array of intriguing townsfolk. However, their mundane existence is disrupted when a hot spring triggers the hatching of four ominous eggs. The creatures hatched, known to us as Graboids but dubbed Dirt Dragons by the unsuspecting townsfolk, unleash havoc, claiming the lives of several miners and blanketing the town in fear. As terror grips the town, the mine's operations come to a standstill, threatening the very lifeblood of Rejection. This prompts the arrival of Hiram Gummer, the mine's owner and great-grandfather to the iconic Burt, from Philadelphia. Despite his affluent background, Hiram finds himself ill-equipped to face the monstrous Dirt Dragons. In a desperate bid for salvation, Hiram enlists the help of Black Hand Kelly, a renowned gunslinger. However, the beasts prove too formidable, claiming Kelly's life and growing in size, forcing a disillusioned Hiram to abandon Rejection. However, destiny has other plans. During his time in Carson City, Hiram stumbles upon a message revealing the Dirt Dragons' impending invasion of Rejection. This spurs him into action, and he returns to the town, armed to the teeth with an arsenal that includes a massive punt gun. As Hiram embraces the harsh lessons of survival, the town, refusing to abandon their home, readies itself for a do-or-die confrontation with the Dirt Dragons. The once quiet town of Rejection now stands at the precipice of a battle that will define their existence, their story becoming an echo through the ages, paving the way for the legendary tale of Perfection Valley.
