Raised in the harsh shadows of abuse, orphan Mike O'Conner escapes his tormented past and dives into the vibrant Chicago rock scene, only to be ensnared in the sinister web of his dubious companions' crimes. Despite his entanglement, his devoted sister Kate orchestrates his release and secures him a job as an aide to Adam Terrell, a renowned writer seeking solace in solitude at a remote lighthouse. In an unexpected twist of fate, the tranquility of the lighthouse is shattered as a mysterious murderer, Art Stoner, ruthlessly takes Adam's life, seizing his identity in the process. Art, a victim of his own past, is a traumatized soul birthed from the grim world of his prostitute mother.
