Meet Dex, a beer-bellied intellectual in his early 30s who's unlocked the secret to life, love, and the pursuit of women. A philosopher at heart, Dex is a disciple of the cool, drawing inspiration from the epitome of American heroism, Steve McQueen. He's a master blender of Eastern and Western philosophies, distilling the essence of Buddhism and Taoism into three simple laws that make him irresistible to women: suppress desire, perform a heroic act, then strategically withdraw. When he's not working his magic on the opposite sex, Dex immerses himself in a laid-back existence. With a part-time job involving kids, an enduring love for beer, poker, pool and Frisbee golf, the company of his buddies, and the loyal companionship of his dog Astro, Dex believes he's got it all. But life isn't always a game of poker, and the stakes rise when he attends his ten-year college reunion. There, he encounters Syd, who challenges his well-honed "Tao of Steve." Suddenly, Dex finds that his usual tactics may not be enough to win the game. Moreover, Syd holds a memory that Dex has long-since forgotten, stirring a sense of urgency in his quest for happiness.
