Evil Dead II (1987)

Ash brings his girlfriend, Linda, to a remote cabin in the woods. A professor studying the occult previously occupied the cabin, and Linda uncovers an old recording made by the professor. Playing the tapes inadvertently leads to the professor's voice reciting passages from an ancient, evil book. The recitation opens portals for malevolent spirits to possess the living. Linda ends up possessed by the spirits, and Ash must battle the "evil dead" and try and survive until dawn.
