Crimson Peak (2015)

It's 1901, and Edith is a young American heiress who hopes to be a writer one day. When she falls in love with an English baronet, Thomas, her father interferes to stop the match after looking into Thomas's background. However, he dies, and Edith marries Thomas and goes with him to his gothic English estate. Nothing there is quite right. The house falling apart, Thomas is distant and his sister seems to dislike her. When Edith begins to see ghosts in the mansion and learn more about Thomas, she begins to think her own life may hang in the balance.
