Plot

In the heart of the 1970s, a harrowing tale begins to unfold within the hallowed walls of St. Vincent's Orphanage, a seemingly serene refuge in Canada. This story, however, is not one of faith and refuge but of a scandal so vile it would shake the foundations of its community. The boys who seek shelter and guidance from the orphanage find themselves victims of unspeakable abuse, both physical and emotional, at the hands of the very priests they trusted. The sinister shadows of the clergy, once pillars of the community, reveal a disturbing pattern of sexual misconduct. When the brave boys muster the courage to speak out, their cries for justice fall on deaf ears. Their accusations are not only dismissed but deliberately buried, as figures of authority - from the chief of police to government officials, and even the high-ranking clergy of the Catholic Church, orchestrate a chilling conspiracy to suffocate the truth. The offending priests, far from facing justice, are quietly whisked away to other parishes, where the cycle of abuse ominously resumes, their vile acts persisting. St. Vincent's dark secret remains hidden, as the machinations of power work relentlessly to prevent the scandal from bursting into public consciousness. Years later, the once young and helpless victims, now adults, resolutely step into the light, their resilience igniting a spark that soon becomes a beacon for justice. An inquiry is launched into the orchestrated cover-up, threatening to expose the scandalous truth that was kept suppressed for too long. One such ex-priest, Brother Peter Lavin (Czerny), now living a seemingly ordinary life with a wife and two sons, finds his past atrocities catching up with him. As he stands trial for his heinous crimes, the silence that protected the guilty begins to crumble, threatening to unleash a scandal that will finally be acknowledged in the public eye. This movie, inspired by true events, serves as a chilling reminder that the truth, no matter how deeply it is buried, will eventually find its way to the surface.
