Mystic River (2003)

A group of friends' childhood innocence is shattered when one is kidnapped and tortured. Now, as adults, the friends struggle to deal with the trauma, particularly Dave, the victim. History seems doomed to repeat itself as the child of one of the friends is brutally murdered. Given Dave's erratic behavior, he's the prime suspect in an intense criminal investigation that threatens to shatter the fragile peace that's grown between the friends.
