The Sixth Sense (1999)

The film opens with Dr. Malcom Crowe, a child psychologist, being shot by a former patient. Dr. Crowe attempts to recover his body and life - including the broken relationship with his wife. He does so largely by working with Cole Sear, a nine year old, who is showing less than ideal development of social skills. Eventually, Cole makes a shocking confession: He can see dead people. And he can prove it. Crowe spends the rest of the film working with Cole to solve murders, save lives, and determine, why he can see the dead.
