Target Zero (1955)

In the volatile theatre of the Korean War in 1952, a United Nations aid worker named Ann Galloway finds herself amidst chaos when her jeep is caught in a crossfire, only to be rescued hours later by a British tank patrol. In this mercurial landscape of shifting frontlines, the British patrol is navigating the labyrinth of war, attempting to reconnect with their main unit. Their journey intertwines with an American infantry led by Lieutenant Tom Flagler and his right-hand, sergeant Vince Gaspari, who are transporting a wounded soldier. Guided by the Americans towards their fortified hill-top base, known as Easy Company, they band together, absorbing a disoriented American mortar team along the way. Their unity is tested as they traverse a hostile terrain, marked by North Korean ambushes, obliterated settlements, and lurking minefields. Despite the odds, they successfully ambush a Communist truck convoy, seizing much-needed resources - fuel, food, and ammunition. Upon reaching their destination, they're met with a grim scene - Easy Company has been ravaged by relentless Communist assaults. Rattled but resolute, Lieutenant Flagler radios the nearest American command post, only to receive distressing news. A staggering force of one million Red Chinese soldiers have infiltrated North Korea, threatening to drive the United Nations forces further south. In response, Flagler is tasked with defending the decimated hill-top base, with the promise of air and naval bombardment support from a U.S warship patrolling the Korean coast. Faced with an imminent onslaught of enemy forces, the beleaguered band of survivors fortify their positions and brace for the storm. The hill, once a symbol of security, now stands as an arena of impending conflict, encapsulating the desperate struggle for survival in a war-torn world.
