Stop the Wedding (2016)

In the heart of Seattle, Belle Colton, a retired art teacher and lifelong singleton, stumbles into an unexpected whirlwind romance with Hollywood heartthrob Sean Castleberry, who coincidentally rents the house next to hers while filming a movie. Despite their month-long acquaintance, they decide to seal their love in matrimony in two weeks' time. This abrupt announcement sends shockwaves through their respective families, primarily Belle's niece, Anna - a San Francisco-based divorce attorney - and Sean's son, Clay - a Boston-based orthopedic surgeon. Anna, who met Sean at the same time as Belle, is skeptical. Her own youthful marriage ended in a swift divorce, and she fears Sean's star-studded lifestyle and two failed marriages will shatter Belle's heart. On the other hand, Clay harbors fears that Anna is a gold-digger, a product of his own past where his ex-fiancée seemed more enamored by his status than his person. Despite their demanding careers, Anna and Clay put everything on hold and head to Seattle, united by a single mission - to stop the wedding. Their initial encounter is marked by hostility, fueled by preconceived notions of each other. However, as they set their differences aside to focus on their shared aim, they begin to see the budding love between Belle and Sean in a new light. Belle and Sean couldn't be more different - Belle yearns for the tranquility of ranch life, while Sean is accustomed to the luxuries of Hollywood. Witnessing the genuine affection between Belle and Sean challenges Anna and Clay's skepticism about love at first sight. But, they remain hesitant, unable to ignore the stark differences in each couple's lifestyle. As they delve deeper into the world of love and marriage, they begin to see each other through a new, romantic lens. Yet, a happy ending for both couples is far from certain, given their inherent disparities and Anna's firsthand experience with the harsh realities of divorce.
