Plot

In the heart of the 19th century, Ada, a voiceless woman, finds her world uprooted. Leaving the familiar landscapes of Scotland, she embarks on a journey to the untamed forests of New Zealand's North Island, carrying with her the two things closest to her heart: her young daughter, Flora, and her cherished piano. This journey is not a venture of exploration, but a voyage into an arranged marriage with Stewart, a wealthy landowner whose understanding of Ada runs as shallow as a creek. Life in the wild, rugged terrains of New Zealand is a far cry from her imaginings. The melody of her life takes a dissonant turn when Stewart, unmoved by the music that sings in Ada's silence, trades her beloved piano to George, a plantation worker. George, however, offers Ada a lifeline - a chance to earn back her piano through giving him lessons, albeit under certain unspoken conditions. A proposition born of desire; a bargain that spins a complex web around them. Initially, Ada harbors nothing but contempt for George, but as the keys of the piano whisper their stories, an unexpected transformation occurs. Their relationship evolves, spinning them into a situation as uncharted as the New Zealand wilderness. As the notes of her piano echo in the dense forest, Ada navigates a path fraught with torment, loss, and a peculiar form of redemption. Her journey, like a haunting composition, unveils the power of resilience, the complexity of human connections, and the silent symphony of a woman's spirit.
