Plot

Bob Harris, an aging and famous but burned-out actor who is in Tokyo to shoot a commercial, meets a bored and aimless young woman, Charlotte, at his hotel. Charlotte has accompanied her photographer husband on a job, and while he is busy working, she and Bob strike up an intense friendship as they both grapple with where they are in their life and what they want to do next. Against the backdrop of a manic and sometimes confusing foreign city, they form a profound bond that changes them both.
