Plot
Despite facing the harsh impact of anti-black racism home in the United States, Jesse Owens managed to become the first member of his family to go to college and quickly became an athlete recognized throughout the world thanks to his prodigious talent on the track. When America decides to enter an Olympics competition hosted by Nazi Germany, Jesse Owens needs to struggle with the moral trajectories of choosing to attend. And when he does travel overseas, all eyes are on him. Famed German director Leni Riefenstahl sees Owens as an opportunity to embarrass the Americans, and Owens sees in Nazi Germany a distorted reflection of America's own racism. On the track, none of that will matter.
