Hidalgo (2004)

This is the story of an American cowboy in 1890 who becomes disillusioned with the treatment of Native Americans by the U.S. Army. He and his amazing horse work for a while in Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show and finally take a challenge from an Arab to prove his horse is as great as he claims. He goes to Arabia to participate in a 3,000-mile race across the desert. Along the way, he has to fight off several other participants who are determined to see him lose. They spoil the watering holes and falsely accuse him of crimes. Will he be able to survive and prove the greatness of his little horse?
