Plot

A dramatization of the true story of Belfast’s Gerry Conlon who was accused of the 1974 bombing of the Guildford Pub in London. Several people were killed. Conlon initially professed innocence but then signed a confession during a brutal interrogation. He later claimed he was coerced. Conlon and his father are convicted and sent to jail. Then a British lawyer takes on the case and finds plenty of evidence, including a solid alibi, that could exonerate Conlon. The case plays out against a backdrop of “The Troubles,” the often violent conflict between Irish I.R.A. militants and the British government.
