In the frenetic heart of Los Angeles, NERDLAND unfolds the tale of two dreamers, JOHN, the aspiring actor, and ELLIOT, the hopeful screenwriter, who find their ambitions of stardom wilting away as the daunting shadow of their 30th birthdays approaches. With the ticking clock of desperation echoing in their ears, they hatch a daring plan to hitch a ride on the relentless train of celebrity culture, where fame and infamy often blur into one. NERDLAND is the day they decide to seize, fuelled by witless enthusiasm and a reckless disregard for the conventional route to stardom. Devoid of talent and intellectual prowess, they embark on a wild quest for fame, leaving a trail of chaos in the city of angels. They navigate through a mind-boggling maze of rampant consumerism, where they yearn not just to consume, but to be consumed, to be the center of attention, to be famous. Their path is paved with a motley crew of friends, both old and new, who become unwitting participants in their quest for notoriety. As they plunge deeper into their fame-hungry journey, the cost of their aspirations starts to spiral, threatening to consume them. NERDLAND is their rollercoaster ride to fame – a ride they are determined to take, no matter the consequences.
