Plot
In the wake of a Kurdish independence war, the heroic Baran finds himself serving as sheriff in Erbil, the bustling capital city. Embracing peace, he contemplates leaving his badge behind but agrees to a remote post instead, at the crossroads of Iran, Turkey, and Iraq. This lawless valley, a thriving hub for illicit drug, medication, and alcohol trade, introduces him to a different kind of battle.
Upon arrival in the rustic village, Baran's principles clash with Aga Azzi, the profoundly corrupt tribal chief who holds unchallenged dominion over the area. His refusal to bend the knee to this authority paints a target on his back. Amidst this tension, he encounters Govend, a village school teacher shunned similarly by the villagers. Like Baran, Govend stands as a symbol of the emerging, autonomous Kurdish state's law.
As an unmarried woman, Govend's position teeters on the brink of vulnerability. Paralleling Baran's journey, she navigates the precarious landscape of their newfound home. Together, they confront the resistance within this small valley, embodying the spirit of a fresh, defiant Kurdistan. Their story is a testament to resilience, courage and the pursuit of justice, set against the rugged backdrop of a land caught between old law and new hope.
