Das Boot (1981)

It's 1942 and life on a submarine is difficult. Viewers get up close and personal with the cramped hallways of a German u-boat and the crew forced to live in the terrifying and claustrophobic surroundings. While their role harassing British ships is highly dangerous, most of the time spent in the submarine is terribly boring. But when the U-boat is suddenly attacked by a group of Allied ships, the men jump to action to save themselves. Their cynicism about the world and the war may not change, but their competence and determination will need to stay strong if they want to survive.
