Tom Reagan has earned his position as the right hand man to powerful mob boss Leo explicitly because he's proven himself rational and clear-headed regardless of the situation he finds himself in. And in the underworld of this Prohibition-era metropolis, rationality is a rare and precious asset. Things are tense between Leo and another mob boss, and avoiding a full-blown war requires carefully walking a line between their egos. But when advice from Tom leads to him getting kicked out of the family's circle, he's suddenly left to the wolves and will have to leverage his skills to get out of it.
