Good Bye, Lenin! (2003)

East Berliner Christiane is fiercely committed to socialism, even after her husband leaves her for the West and another woman. The sight of her son marching against the government in 1989 induces a heart attack, and she slips into a coma. By the time she wakes up months later, the government has fallen and the country is on its way to reuniting. Worried that another shock will cause a fatal heart attack, her children decide to do their best to recreate East Berlin around her and pretend that the events of the previous year did not happen.
