Plot

Successful Irish artist Megan and her Italian husband Leo, who left his homeland years ago, reside harmoniously in Dublin. Their lives take an unexpected turn when Leo's uncle, Monsignor Domenico, a highly influential Catholic priest being considered for beatification, passes away. This unfortunate event draws the couple to the sun-drenched landscapes of Apulia, southern Italy, to manage Leo's unexpected ancestral inheritance. Leo's initial plan is to sell the magnificent, age-old palace to his brother Nicola, also a priest, and return to their tranquil life in Dublin. However, the allure of Apulia and the grandeur of the palace bewitch Megan, igniting her artistic spirit. Simultaneously, Leo rekindles old bonds and rediscovers a life he'd left behind, prompting them to extend their stay over the summer. As the sultry days roll by, Megan, often alone in the palace, begins to feel the eerie presence of unseen entities. Driven by this unsettling experience, she embarks on a quest to unravel a deep-seated family mystery related to Leo. Her search leads her to Father Von Galen, a priest from Bolzano's diocese, dispatched by the Vatican to scrutinize Domenico's beatification process. As Megan delves deeper into Monsignor Domenico's enigmatic past, she finds herself ensnared in a perilous battle against formidable adversaries hell-bent on concealing the truth. The tale follows her relentless pursuit of unveiling the shadows of the past, weaving a path of suspense and intrigue that leaves the viewer captivated until the very end.
