From Hell (2001)

This interpretation of the unsolved murders committed by Jack the Ripper posits a vision of Victorian London rife with corruption and mired in vast conspiracies that shape who faces justice and who doesn't. Frederick Abberline is an inspector working for Scotland Yard, but he's also a regular drug user. His consumption seems to provide him with clairvoyant visions of important moments. Between these visions and his investigation, his attention draws him to London high society as well as the secretive group known as the Freemasons. But the Ripper conspiracy goes deep, and Frederick begins to question whether his superiors in Scotland Yard are in on it.
