Love & Mercy (2015)

In the 1960s, Brian Wilson is the lead bassist of the incredibly successful pop group The Beach Boys. The pressures of fame culminate in a mental breakdown that changes the sound of his music. He creates an experimental album called "Pet Sounds." Wilson's attempts to make a follow-up album called "Smile" only worsen his sanity. Twenty years later, in the 1980s, Wilson suffers under the abuse of his doctor and legal guardian Dr. Eugene Landy. His life seems bleak until he falls in love with Melinda Ledbetter, a Cadillac saleswoman who wants to help him escape Dr. Landy's control.
