Plot

In the heart-stirring chronicle, Knock Down the House, four extraordinary women rise from the ashes of personal tragedy and societal injustice to challenge the very foundations of political incumbency. The 2018 midterm elections serve as their battleground, a pivotal moment that shifts the scales of power. Amidst the tumult of the financial crisis, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a Bronx native, grapples with a family calamity and the looming threat of foreclosure, finding strength in her double-shifts as a bartender. Amy Vilela, propelled by a potent mix of grief and anger, takes on America's flawed healthcare system that claimed the life of a loved one. Cori Bush, a nurse and pastor, finds her calling in the uproar of protests that erupt in her neighborhood following the unjust police shooting of an unarmed man. The narrative is completed by Paula Jean Swearengin, a coal miner's daughter, who refuses to silently watch the environmental devastation of her community caused by the coal industry. Knock Down the House paints a vivid portrait of resilience, defiance, and hope, embodied by these four women set to redefine their world.
