Plot

Amidst a tempest's fury, a traveling circus loses its most unexpected star—a gangly baby zebra. Rescued by Nolan Walsh, a former champion horse trainer, and his vibrant daughter Channing, the striped foal, affectionately dubbed "Stripes," finds a new home on their quaint Kentucky farm. Nolan, who has traded the adrenaline of the race track for a tranquil life with Channing, unknowingly nurtures a future competitor. The Walsh farm, a haven for a quirky ensemble of barnyard outcasts, sits on the cusp of the prestigious Turfway Racetrack—home to the illustrious Kentucky Crown. Among Stripes' unconventional family is the cantankerous Shetland Pony, Tucker, and Franny, the wise, old goat who serves as the farm's matriarch. They are joined by Goose, a frenzied pelican in self-imposed exile from Jersey, and the ironically named bloodhound, Lightening, whose watchful eye only interrupts his frequent slumbers. From the moment Stripes glimpses the race track, a fire is kindled within him. He dreams of thundering hooves and cheering crowds, of leaving thoroughbreds trailing in his wake. But there's one minor hiccup—he's not a horse. Undeterred, he immerses himself in training, his spirit unyielding. With Tucker's expert guidance, once used to mold champion racehorses, and a sprinkle of misfit ingenuity, they hatch a plan. A plan that, if successful, could see Stripes galloping his way to victory in the Kentucky Open horse race, proving once and for all that stripes can indeed blend into a field of thoroughbreds.
