Plot

In the picturesque coastal town of Carmel, California, the seemingly idyllic life of Julie and Lyle Benton, a flight attendant and a concert pianist, is marred by the undercurrents of Lyle's destructive jealousy. Their marriage, however, is not Julie's first rodeo. Her first marriage ended in tragedy when her previous husband, Bob, seemingly took his own life. But when Bob's cousin, Cliff Henderson, plants the seed of suspicion that Bob's death was not a suicide, chilling possibilities begin to emerge. Julie's world spirals into a terrifying nightmare when Lyle chillingly confesses to killing Bob, claiming it was a twisted act of love for her. Her new husband's admission sends a cold shiver down her spine, convincing her that she must escape before she becomes his next victim. With only Cliff as her ally in a dangerous game of cat and mouse, Julie must devise a plan to break free from Lyle's menacing grasp. An unexpected call to work on a flight might just provide her the chance she needs to flee. But escaping is just the beginning. In a city as vast as San Francisco, Lyle's shadow looms ominously, seeming able to trace her footsteps despite her best efforts. The police prove to be of little help against Lyle's veiled threats, leaving Julie to fend for herself. In a desperate race against time, Julie must not only outwit Lyle but also convince others of his murderous inclinations, armed with nothing more than her word against his. As the suspense mounts, the plot weaves a chilling tale of love twisted into obsession and the desperate fight for survival.
