Plot

In the chilling grip of winter, just days before Christmas, Tom Phillips finds his life irreversibly altered. A reckless driver instigates a traumatic car accident, leaving Tom physically unscathed but emotionally scarred. Struggling with a newfound, chronic back pain and a psychological aversion to anything related to the accident, Tom finds himself unable to continue his current job. In a bid to start afresh, Tom, his devoted wife Peg, and their two children - the teenage Tina and young Jamie - uproot their lives from bustling Boston to the arid tranquility of the California desert, purchasing a motel in the quiet town of Mayville. Their journey towards a new life takes a sinister turn when they cross paths with the reckless hot rodders - Duke, Ernie, and Gloria. Struck by Tom's reproach of their dangerous antics, the trio embarks on a relentless campaign to terrorize the Phillips family with their souped-up vehicle. As each altercation escalates, the Phillips find themselves ensnared in a deadly game of cat-and-mouse, their motel haven now the known target of these thrill-seeking tormentors. Amidst the chaos, Tina finds herself drawn to the charismatic Duke, an infatuation that further complicates the family's perilous situation. With the harsh realization that they can neither outrun the hot rod nor outwit the unhinged Duke, the Phillips must summon their courage and devise a plan to protect themselves. 'Hot Rods to Hell' is a gripping tale of resilience and survival, as one family fights to reclaim their dreams from the clutches of menace on the sun-bleached canvas of the California desert.
