Dune (1984)

It is the year 10191. All of the solar system's planets are controlled by an emperor. The universe's top commodity is a spice called melange. It can extend life and expand consciousness. It allows a person to travel without having to physically move. It is said to only be available on the sizzling planet called Arrakis. Prophets live there. The planet is also called "Dune" for its vast desert dunes. Spice production is at risk, and they have to figure out why if they are going to preserve their way of life.
