Upon their arrival in the exotic land of Thailand, American lovebirds Jim and Julie enlist the services of the courteous driver Gogo and his trusty van for their tour of Bangkok. As they traverse the vibrant city, they uncover the intriguing legend of the ghost houses - tiny, intricate abodes purposed for spirits to reside peacefully, safeguarding the living from their haunting presence. Amidst these mystical tales, Jim seizes the moment to propose to Julie, his love token being an enchanting engagement ring. Celebrating their new life chapter, they cross paths with the enigmatic British duo, Robert and Billy, in the hotel lobby who invite them for a night of revelry. The night takes a turn when Robert lures Jim to a place of debauchery, leaving Julie under the watchful eye of Billy. After a heated argument with a drunken Jim, Julie finds herself accepting Robert's intriguing offer - a visit to the ghost houses on the city outskirts. A sinister game unfolds as Robert ties Julie's scarf around a doll's neck and abruptly departs with Billy, leaving the American couple stranded in an eerie unknown. As Julie's health takes a worrying dip, Gogo comes to their rescue, spiriting her away to a nearby village where his aunts reside. Here, a monk intervenes, blessing Julie with protective amulets that bring about a miraculous recovery. Upon their return to the hotel, Julie experiences terrifying visions once she removes the amulets. The question unravels - what sinister plot has Robert spun around Julie in the shadow of the ghost houses?
