Dhol (2007)

In a quaint town in India, four friends - Sameer Arya, Martand Damdere, Pankaj Tiwari, and Gautam Sesodia, lead lives of hapless mediocrity. Struggling with financial woes, family estrangement, and a constant inability to pay their rent, they find themselves in a perpetual whirlwind of misfortune. Their solution? To secure their futures by charming a wealthy maiden into matrimony. Enter Ritu Tripathi, a newcomer to the town, on a desperate search for her lost brother, Rahul. The quartet, seizing this opportunity, craftily weaves a web of deceit, convincing Ritu that they are close companions of the missing Rahul. Pankaj even audaciously rebrands himself as 'Jai', Ritu's supposedly engaged suitor. However, the facades shatter when Ritu encounters Sophie, the woman her brother was in truth destined to wed. Before Ritu can alert the authorities, their lives take a comical yet perilous turn. The foursome are kidnapped by the sinister gangster, Zikomo, who demands the return of his prized possession - a dhol, or drum. As they scramble to escape their predicament, they find themselves simultaneously dodging the police, Martand's debt-ridden uncle, and an array of menacing goons. 'Dhol' is a whirlwind comedy of errors, where the protagonists' quest for an easy life spirals into a chaotic adventure of deception, hilarity, and unexpected criminal entanglements.
