Plot

In Destino, a woman embarks on a journey through a dreamscape of surreal transformations, a symphony of Salvador Dalí's signature style and themes. As she navigates this world, her lover's face liquefies, a shadow of a bell drapes around her forming a gown, and she metamorphoses into a dandelion, while Frenchmen emerge from ants and mount bicycles. This fantastical universe also gives birth to turtles with faces on their shells, morphing into a ballerina after a collision, and an outlandishly peculiar baseball game. Everywhere, the ticking hands of time are echoed in melting clocks and trickling hourglass sand, along with figures rendered in strips and a character cloaked in eyeballs. Born from the brilliant minds of two world-renowned artists, Salvador Dalí and Walt Disney, this project was conceived in 1945. However, the production was halted due to financial constraints at the studio. Fast-forwarding over half a century, the vision was resurrected and realized in 2003 by Disney's nephew, Roy. At its core, Destino is a poignant love story between Chronos, the embodiment of time, and a mortal woman. Their quest for each other unfolds across the surreal landscapes that have repeatedly served as a muse for Dalí's iconic paintings. This fusion of art, animation, and emotion weaves an unforgettable tale of love lost and rediscovered, pulling the audience into a mesmerizing vortex of time and imagination.
