Blue Velvet (1986)

Home from college because of a family emergency, Jeremy is shocked to discover a severed human ear in a field in his small town. He reports it to the police and meets the detective's daughter, Sandy, who has overheard more about the case. Jeremy's subsequent investigations take him down a dark and twisted road where he learns about the evil lurking beneath the surface of his idyllic hometown.
