Videodrome (1983)

Max Renn is a successful TV programmer specifically because he's relentless in his pursuit of the latest and most cutting edge shows. He deals mostly in pornography, though he'd be loathe to admit that he enjoys it in public. But his hunt for a pirate TV show called Videodrome will force him to consider his deepest and most vile impulses. Videodrome's acts of torture and murder is dubiously real, but the real story behind its transmission is grotesquely sinister. Max's quest for new programming brings him close to a global conspiracy that draws his own girlfriend in as a victim.
