Brazil (1985)

Timid Sam Lowry works for the Ministry of Information in a near-future dystopia. He sustains himself with daydreams in which he rescues a beautiful woman—who just happens to resemble the neighbor of a woman Lowry decides to help when her husband is arrested as a terrorist due to a clerical error that changed the name Tuttle to Buttle. Sam finds himself thrown into a dangerous, chaotic and absurd series of events that involve meeting the real Tuttle and trying to right the clerical wrong and save the beautiful woman before the grinding bureaucracy of the surveillance state takes them all down.
