The Guest (2018)

Birthed in a lineage of shamans, Yoon Hwa Pyung (Kim Dong Wook) is a psychic prodigy who stumbles upon the chilling existence of an omnipotent demon, "Sohn" (Guest), two decades ago. This malevolent entity holds the terrifying capacity to manipulate weaker demons, driving them to invade vulnerable humans, sparking a horrifying chain of events - a spiral of madness, familial slaughter, and self-inflicted eye-gouging. In this tumultuous period, Hwa Pyung, Choi Yoon (Kim Jae Wook), a boy grounded in his devout Catholic roots, and Kang Gil Young (Jung Eun Chae), the resilient daughter of a seasoned detective, are thrust together by a tragic twist of fate - their families fall victims to the demon's rampage. Fast forward twenty years, the harrowing demon-induced killings resurface, pulling the trio back into the nightmarish cycle. Now a taxi driver, Hwa Pyung harnesses his psychic abilities to track down and aid those afflicted by possession. Simultaneously, Yoon, a skilled exorcist, combats the evil entities with his faith as his shield, and Gil Young, turned skeptical detective, battles her disbelief in the supernatural. Thrust together once more, they must pool their collective abilities, strengths, and resolve to vanquish the demonic "Sohn", navigating the murky waters of horror that threaten to engulf them.
