Yanks (1979)

In the throes of WWII, the United States establishes military bases in the heartland of Great Britain, a move met with a mix of disdain and tolerance by the local Brits. The brash American soldiers, known as 'Yanks', unsettle the British sensibilities, particularly with their forward advances on the lonely British women, left behind as their men fight on foreign soils. As the war rages on, unexpected bonds form amidst the chaos and uncertainty.
